Immunization Awareness

Don't Wait, Vaccinate

As a result of widespread immunization, infectious diseases that once caused suffering and even death for thousands of people in the United States are now far less common. For it to remain this way, and to assure that you are continually safe from certain contagious diseases, it's important that you stay up-to-date with vaccinations.

Recommended vaccinations begin shortly after birth and continue into adolescence and adulthood. If you are uncertain of your immunization history, consult your physician to find out which vaccinations you have already received and which ones you still need. Your physician can also help you stay up-to-date by suggesting a schedule of vaccinations that's right for you. Be aware that if you travel to certain regions outside the United States, there are additional vaccines recommended to protect you from diseases.

Vaccinations are key in preventing the spread of diseases. Being immunized doesn't only protect you, it also helps protect your family, friends, and community from infectious diseases.
